Street Rat shares new single ‘Holding My Tongue’

Holding My Tongue is the second single from London-based songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer Street Rat, taken from his debut album ‘Nothing As It Seems’ (out October 9 on Soul Has No Tempo).

‘Holding My Tongue’ follows on from the first single Overland—a 5min sonic exploration with a ton of different musical influences—jazz, soul, alt-rock, electronica, pop, Indian-classical, et al. On radio it gained support from the likes of BBC 1Xtra, Jazz FM, Worldwide FM, Kev Beadle amongst others.

"Holding My Tongue is a song about the motionless state that reluctance can put you in. It has a lot to do with being too aware and fearful of the possible consequences of a single action", says Imraan.

Despite the rather introspective topic tackled by the lyrics, the music displays joyful and catchy colours, beautifully blending soulful grooves with Imraan's trademark guitar-driven, alt-rock energy.
